The issue of whether or not Euthanasia is right is a contentious one - and rightly so. None of us can bear to see another suffer, which is why we euthanise our pets when life becomes too hard for them.
The problem lies in the fact that human beings are completely set apart from the animal world. We are spiritual as well as physical beings. Our creator is truly the only one who has the right to decide when our time on this earth is up.
Entertaining the concept of Euthanasia is also a dangerous one. When the line between right and wrong starts to blur, people make decisions based on their own feelings instead of reality. Look at the heinous crimes committed in Hitlers time with the destruction of any life not considered ideal - so many disabled children were murdered. A series of acts that were 'justifed' at the time because of the way the decision makers felt.
The law stands the way it does for a reason. When people lose their moral compass, the law provides a protection to help them discern between right and wrong.
